

Celebration services for Albert Gene Parks’ life will be at 11:00 am Friday, January 25, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church in Shreveport with pastors, Rick Edmonds, Steve Gilley and Jerry Stogner officiating. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Parks loved the Lord and he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He retired from Kellogg Brown and Root after more than forty-five years of service.
Albert Gene Parks was born July 9, 1943 in Converse, LA and went home to our Father January 18, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Albert James Parks and Lovie Dee Parks; his wife: Kay Posey Parks; sister: Ruthie L. Parks Redding; and mother-in-law: Pearley Mae Posey.
Survivors include: children, Cheryl Futch (Brian) of West Monroe, LA; Albert James Parks,II of Fort Worth, TX; Kelly Boice (Robin) of Duncan, OK; Step-daughters: Casey and Anita; grandchildren: Wesly, Cody, Addison Grace, Destiny, Kevin and Alexandria; and five great-grandchildren; siblings: Judy Maranto (Sam) of Shreveport; Jerry W. Parks (Penny) of Keithville; Donald Ray Parks (Betty) of Keithville; numerous nieces and nephews; Father-in-law: Huey Posey; mother of his children, Kay Shoemate.
Pallbearers will be Albert James Parks,II, Wesly Cottrell, Kevin Parks, Cody Cottrell, PFC Esteban Damian, A.J. Maranto, Beau Parks and Austin Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Maranto, Phillip Winterton, Joel Anderson, Phillip Anzalone, Ron Powell and Rick Veulemsn.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Massengill and his staff and to the National Institutes of Health, for giving Daddy 2 ½ more years to share life together.
