Betty attended Saint Vincent Academy (SVA) and was the in class of 1951. These special friends still meet each month for lunch. They had a special bond. She went on to be an x-ray technician. She worked at Beard Pollan for several years. Later she became a Travel Agent at Piermont Travel. She enjoyed traveling the world. She rode camels in Egypt, explored the tombs of the pyramids, traveled through Europe and slept under the stars in Chaco Canyon. After retiring from the Travel Business Betty worked for Allen Energy Group, LLC for Tanya and Lynn Allen. Betty was an avid gardener. She loved all flowers and Mother Magnolia in her back yard. She enjoyed collecting stones and crystals from all over the world. Friends Doris and Janine would go to the Gem and Mineral Show with her every year looking for more treasure. Betty was a sharp dresser. Always dressed to the 9s, she never left the house without her make-up on and matching jewelry. Known at the Oaks as the Diva, I believe it!
Betty also enjoyed exercise. She attended Broadmoor Baptist Church exercise group for over 30 years, the Topsy Turvies. Her physical strength was on display till the end. She had friends from all walks of life. Betty never met a vitamin she didn’t like! She studied natural herbal remedies for better health. She had a connection to Spirit. Her Spirit lives on in her family.
Later in life Betty moved to The Oaks of Louisiana. She enjoyed her time there and made many new friends. This community supported her over the last 2 years. We appreciate all the care she was given there by staff, her care givers from Golden Gate Services and Life Path Hospice. It truly takes a village. To those that took special care of her daily, THANK YOU.
