Graveside service for Bettye Jean Jordan, 95, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Centuries Memorial. Officiating will be Rev. Beth Sentell of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Bossier City.
Our mom passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, in her sleep at The Chateaus in Shreveport, LA. Bettye was born in Bossier City, LA on February 25, 1926, to Jack and Veola Eubanks. She graduated from Bossier High School and then from Centenary College. During WWII, she met our dad, Ray Jordan, while he was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base for training in the B-26. After the war, Bettye traveled to Paris, France, where they were married on February 1, 1947. The next 17 years saw them stationed in many places in the United States and twice in Germany until Ray’s retirement in 1964. Our parents settled in Bossier City for the remainder of their lives.
Bettye was a kind and gracious lady who loved her family unconditionally and her world revolved around all of us. She was a consummate hostess and loved entertaining for her friends and family. She also taught Sunday School for many years and then taught the women’s Sunday morning bible study for over 20 years.
Bettye was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Ray Jordan, and by her oldest daughter, Lora Jordan Fairchild. She is survived by her son, Clifford Noel Jordan, and daughter, Linda Rae Jordan and husband Bert R. Algood; grandchildren, Jennifer L. Sizemore (Jerry) and Kevin R. Cloud (Regina); great grandchildren, Loren Ashley Cole, Madelyn Rae Sizemore, Kaitlyn Lee Sizemore, Rebecca Ann Sizemore, Christine Marie Sizemore, Kaden R. Cloud, and Allie Jean Cloud.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1944 Airline Dr., Bossier City, LA.
Mom, you will dearly be missed and forever in our hearts.
