He was the first son of John Brendan and Louise Hanson Lally. He graduated from Peotone High School in 1976 and attended Joliet Junior College.
His first job was with Lally Bros Company / Lally Pipe & Tube from 1976 through 1990, working both in the manufacturing and sales distribution. He was the first of the fourth generation to work in the family business. In 1995, he branched out on his own and formed Fieldbrook Pipe and Supply Company, a pipe distribution company in Olney, Illinois. He had many lifelong friends through his career in the steel and oil business.
In his retirement, he enjoyed deep sea fishing in the Florida Keys and spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid reader, in particular, of historical biographies. He was known for his sense of humor and quick wit and coupled with his gregarious personality, he attracted a wide group of friends. He was generous to a fault and will be remembered for his charity to those who asked for his help.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Christine Lally, his two daughters from a previous marriage, Brianna Wynn and Nicollette Lally and his two step children, Jessica Carpenter and Daniel Kocher; his mother, Louise Lally, brother, Timothy Lally and his sister, Dana Lally Haugli. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to St. Jude Charity in Memphis, TN.
