Cametta Noel Emmons, 99, of Shreveport, LA peacefully passed away on February 19, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on March 30, 1922 to Bertha and Jack Noel in Gilliam, LA. She was married to Roy K. Emmons and together they had one daughter, Sherrie Emmons Leon.
Cametta retired from Shriner’s Hospital after several years of honorable service as a devoted employee. She was a charter member of St. James Episcopal Church. After retirement, Cametta enjoyed traveling with friends, participating in aerobics and tending to her beautiful flower gardens. She was an avid reader, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Her love for others was easily seen in her generosity and care for many people throughout her life. She loved her family and leaves a legacy of faith, strength and dignity.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, her parents, Bertha and Jack, her sisters Camille and Betty and son-in-law, Frank Leon Jr.
Cametta is survived by her daughter, Sherrie Leon; granddaughters, Becki Leon and Roger Hensley; Amie Lee and husband, Ronald Lee; great-granddaughters, Bailey Garza and husband Tony Garza Jr., Morgan Pouch husband Zachary Pouch; Anna Claire Lee and Lex Dudley; great great-granddaughters, Gabriella Garza, Ellie Garza and Harper Rose Pouch; special niece, Pam Moore; devoted caregivers, Kathy, Rotelia and Paula and many loved ones and friends.
A visitation for Cametta will be held Friday, February 25, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM. Honoring Cametta as pallbearers will be Ronald Lee, Roger Hensley, Tony Garza Jr., Zachary Pouch and Eric Massey.
Flowers brought great joy to Cametta, but she was also passionate about her church, St. James Episcopal and her work at Shriner's Hospital for Children, memorials or flowers would be greatly appreciated.
