Mr. Carl Leon Hall, 89, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Willis-Knighton Pierremont Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana after a long, beautiful life. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service outside of mass officiated by Msgr. Price. Interment will take place at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery.
Carl was born on September 12, 1936, in Keithville, Louisiana to Joseph Henry Hall and Ida Martha Hudnall Hall. He was very proud to be the seventh son of ten children in his family. He admired and looked up to all six of his older brothers and loved and took care of his three little sisters. He spent the majority of his life in Shreveport and attended Summer Grove Elementary and was a proud graduate of C.E. Byrd High School. He married the love of his life, Norma Bauman Hall, with whom he shared 68 wonderful years. He truly never got over her loss – not even six months ago. Together, they raised two wonderful children who were both devoted to him all of his life.
He received a diploma from Chicago Technical College in Machine Drafting in 1961. After he completed his training, he started his professional career at Morton Thiokol and Western Electric for 25 years, where he worked as a draftsman. Soon thereafter, his wife opened her own Interior Decorating Business called “Hall Interiors, Inc.” and he managed the business affairs while she utilized her talents transforming homes into true pieces of art. Daily, he would deliver furniture and hang pictures for Norma, assisting her to perfect her masterpiece in each and every home.
After they retired the business, he and Norma moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to enjoy their life traveling and being with his brother-in-law, Walter. They loved entertaining family and friends who would go to visit them there. Soon their love of family, and especially their grandchildren brought them back to Shreveport. He became a residential building contractor upon their return to Louisiana. He built and remolded many homes, including several homes for he and his wife to live in. He had an unmatchable talent with his craft and making sure the friends he built homes for were happy with every, single, detail. Eventually he was appointed to become a Member of the Board of Commissioners of the North Shreveport Industrial Park.
The last ten years of his life he was devoted to taking care of his wife’s daily needs. He had many challenging days as her Alzheimer disease progressed, but he never left her side. He found great joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. On his final day, he waited to hear from each one before taking his last breath.
