

Stonewall, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Charles Ross Lockwood, 71, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Dr. Rocky Maddox of Rose Park Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
Charles was born on August 5, 1944 in Natchitoches, LA and passed away on September 8, 2015 in Stonewall, LA. Mr. Lockwood worked at General Motors until his retirement in 2002. He was a member of Rose Park Baptist Church. Mr. Lockwood was a very strong Christian man and was very strong in his faith. Charles was a dedicated and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, motorcycling and training dogs and horses. Charles was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Charles is his wife of 46 years, Shirley Hearon Lockwood; daughter, Kimberly Henry and husband Rodney; grandchildren, Taylor Henry, Trevor Henry, Libby Welborn and Tyler Welborn; siblings, Bobby Lockwood, Jan Lockwood Coker and husband Bill, Mary Lockwood Singletary and husband Jimmy and Bonita Lockwood Coker and husband Wendell.
Mr. Lockwood was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.E. Lockwood; brothers, Benny Lockwood and Mike Lockwood; sisters, Bettie Lockwood Gautney and Nancy Lockwood Russell.
Honoring Mr. Lockwood as pallbearers will be: Tommy Broughton, B.J. Coker, Doyle Henry, Rodney Henry, Chase Lockwood and Rod Singletary. Honorary pallbearer will be Brad Singletary.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Michael Moore and Staff, Dr. Anthony Stuart, Dr. Mark Smith and the Willis Knighton North 4 East Oncology Nurses and staff.
