

Mr. Loyd served in the USAF, 526 Fighter Interceptor Squadron as a hydraulic mechanic during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a plumber and pipefitter for 36 years and was a lifetime member of the Local 141. He was president of the Northwood Football Booster Club in the early eighties and was highly instrumental in building the Northwood Football Stadium. Mr. Loyd was a member of Northwood Baptist Church for 44 years. He also was an avid hunter.
Mr. Loyd is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Surviving Mr. Loyd is his loving wife of 54 years, Jodie Loyd; sons, Chris Loyd and wife Rene’ and their sons, Chad and Chase of Shreveport and Douglas Loyd and wife Brandi and their sons, Nathan and Brandon of Madison, WI; stepson, David Todd and his wife Carolyn of Shreveport; a sister, Lenda Gill of Gilmer, TX; a sister-in-law, Dorothy LeGates; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held Monday, November 17, 2014, 10:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Rev. Jimmy Eppinette will officiate. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 5 until 7 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Chad Loyd, Chase Loyd, Nathan Loyd, John Smith, Carlton Anderson and Merrill LaCaze. Honorary Pallbearers are William Moore, Kevin Moore and David Todd.
