As a child, Cody loved to play in the woods that surrounded his home with the boys in the neighborhood. During the summer, he spent his time swimming, playing Little League, and fishing with his daddy. As he grew, he loved going to his grandparents lake house where he rode his jet ski, swam in the lake, and fished. Life was good!
Cody attended Herndon Magnet School through the 8th grade and graduated from Northwood High School in 1999. He then worked for Coca Cola for several years where he learned his marketing skills. He used those skills to build his father's business and later became the owner and operator. He was fully devoted to the business and his customers. He considered his work crew as family and was most appreciative of their dedication.
Cody loved to fish, cookout on the grill, and eat! He loved his Chihuahuas, always having at least two. Friends described him as having a kind nature, being loyal, and dedicated to their friendships. He loved his family with all his heart, and they loved him. He will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Carl Bruce and Linda Waters; sister, Jennifer (Frank) Decker of Boulder City, Nevada, sister Lindsey Waters and her partner Philip Hand of Shreveport, Louisiana; brother, Brett Waters of Ruston, Louisiana; grandmother, Nell Lane of Lampasas, Texas; nephew, Frankie Decker of Los Angeles, California; niece, Mollie Decker of Las Vegas, Nevada; and several cousins, aunts, and uncles.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Helen Waters; and grandfather Frank Lane.
