It’s been a year since we lost one of my best friends. David, you are still very much, and always will be greatly missed. 

This past year has not been the same without you. Miss you bud. 

Even though my wife and I did not get the chance to know David very well, when we first heard of his passing, tears welled up in our eyes because the little that we did communicate with him, we knew that he was a good man.  The sincerity and kindness with which he spoke to us portrayed the kind of man he was and we know that he will be missed terribly by family and friends.

I was out of town when Sara and David first started dating, and I remember Sara was so excited to tell me about this new guy when she picked me up from the airport. You could tell that they were something special right away. When they got married, I was glad to help however I could that day with flowers and music, whatever I could do to help this couple that was so in love (and driving them home with Matt after the reception at Columbia, lol). David let Sara be Sara and you could see how much he loved her by the way he looked at her. They had fun together wherever they went. Sometimes Sara did annoy him, but you could tell he loved it. David would always make time for his friends and family. He was just passionate about whatever he did, whether it was work or fun and you could tell that he genuinely cared. He loved Emma so much and took such good care of Emma and Jacob. Sara too. He took care of everyone and it’s still surreal that he’s not here. David was such a good person and lived a life full of love and kindness. I’m lucky to have known him. He will be greatly missed. 

Jehovah God of armies,  bless this beautiful family, The Vernon 's. I will always have fond memories of David,  he loved to smile and laugh at my jokes in the office.  I kept him rolling! I remember when he used to come out of his office and sit out and shoot the breeze with all in the Oil and Gas Industries,  Twin City-  Chespeka ,he will be missed. See at the Resurrection David J.. David you are one of my best friends and was one  of my best men at my wedding. I found out about your passing as I was fighting for my own life. I don't want this to be real. We had more to do with Jason Moch. We were inseparable, the three Amigo's. I love you brother, I hurt so much. I never got to meet your beautiful wife, daughter and stepson. I'm not allowed to fly due to my aneurysm. My comfort is you are safe in the Lord's loving arms. 

But I still cry for you.....you are my brother from another mother. I love you David J. Vernon you will always be in my thoughts and in my prayers.

What can I say about David that everyone that knew him doesn't already know?  Not much.  Everyone knows that David was one of the nicest most generous people I have ever met.  David was the kind of guy that would do anything to help anyone out, and would do it with a great attitude and a smile on his face, every time. 

I am so thankful that when he came to work at TCD, that our boss put me on his team.  I remember Craig telling me he was putting me on this guy's team that he was bringing over from Ft. Worth.  Craig said he wanted me on David's team because he thought we were a lot alike and would fit well together.  He couldn't have been more right.  David and I clicked right from the start.  We killed it at work and created a great friendship along the way.  I'll never forget the times we had working together.  The late nights running title, walking neighborhoods in the heat, leasing up entire neighborhoods, and going to Cracker Barrel for lunch and eating so much that we were both useless the rest of the day!  

David was such a caring person and it showed all the time.  David and I were supposed to go to Ozzfest in Dallas.  We had tickets and everything.  And then we struck a big deal at work and the signing meeting was the same day.   David offered to cover for me at work and let me take my new girlfriend (who is now my wife!) instead.  He jokingly gave me grief about that all the time.  But I knew he was happy to do it.  It's stuff like that made that man stand out.  David even whooped us in my fantasy football league.  He won like 4 years in a row.  Who does that?  David did.  He even won this last season.  I'm gonna miss his team BYAHHHHHH. 

When Jenn told me she wanted to hook Sara up with someone, David was the first one I thought about.  I'm so glad that we introduced David & Sara, and am very proud of what that union created.  I love you guys with all my heart.  

Any who, David you will be missed by everyone my friend.  

David was a great dad & stepdad & was very loving, sweet & kind to all.  He was a moral man who always tried to do what is right.  The world has lost a special human being.  We will all miss his presence, but his spirit & soul will live on.

I’ll never forget when Sara first started talking to David. We were at the beach, Sara sometimes no where to be found because she was inside the house on the phone with him with the biggest grin on her face. Emma, you were the apple of your daddy’s eyes, and his twin, no doubt. Jacob, David loved you like no other, I loved how he played and taught you life skills that you will never forget. I love you all! 

David will be remembered  as a loving father and husband, fishing partner, and friend.  I enjoyed talking to him about all the projects he had going on at home.  He was always willing to help others in need.  He will be missed by his family and friends.

Kim, the girls and I are so sorry for your loss. I was only fortunate to meet David a couple times, but I remember how excited you were for Scott and I to meet him. He loved sports and you knew we would get a long with him and like him.  We did, I especially enjoyed his Facebook comments and posts on Sunday's during football season. We are here for you if you need anything. Love you and the kids. 

I will always have fond memories of all the holidays, birthdays, and family gatherings we’ve shared. David was fun to be around, and so giving. He was always there for his family, blood and us in-laws. He went out of his way to do nice things for others. Thank you, David for cooking for us, helping me when I was sick, helping us move, and so much more. You will be missed everyday. ❤️

My Fondest Memories of David,was The Look on Emma's face when he would pick her up from Daycare.....Not just the look on Emma's face,but the look on David's as well when they saw one another it was something to see😊...I used to tell David that he could never deny Emma because she looked like his little Double.......David left a lasting Impression on everyone he met I'm guessing because he always had a smile on his face and a kind word.I'm glad I had the pleasure of knowing David.....😊
