Dixie was a majorette and played basketball for Junction City High. She had a long career in retail sales with Selber Bros. and then with Dillards until her retirement in 2008. Dixie was devoted to her family and friends. She passed from this life at the age of 85 on Saturday, January 21, 2023. She is now reunited with her husband, Milton Attaway and her parents. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Donna McDonald of Shreveport, LA, her son, Jerry McDonald of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and her grandson, Joseph "Trey" Vallot, III of Shreveport, LA. A visitation for Dixie will be held Friday, January 27, 2023 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108.
