Dolores Cislaghi Taylor, 99, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 16, 2020. She was born October 15, 1921 in Joliette, IL to Joseph and Ivy Cislaghi. She married her lifelong love, Houston Taylor, on August 12, 1943, who proceeded her in death in 2007.
Known to her friends as Dee, she and Houston were active at Brookwood Baptist Church. She enjoyed her friends and her family and loved to serve the Lord. She was a member of the Greatest Generation and a woman of many talents. She played accordion, water-skied, loved riding motorcycles, and was very happy as a bookkeeper for a number of years. She was a Rosie the Riveter – she worked on planes during WWII. In later years, she took piano lessons, art lessons, and loved playing Bingo. Often, she would take her grandchildren to play when they visited in the summers.
The last time she went to church (pre-covid), she drove herself at the age of 98. She was a faithful church member her entire life. Anyone who knew her, loved and admired her. She enjoyed her 99th birthday surrounded by family whom loved her deeply.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Houston Taylor; her parents, Joseph Sr. and Ivy Cislaghi; her sister, Margie Whitten; and brothers, Joseph C., Jr. and Louis. She is survived by her children, Russell Taylor and Lori Taylor Fili; her grandchildren, Anna Stevenson, Brian Howe, Taylor Boliek and her husband, William, and Stephanie Brooker and her husband, Dwight; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was also loved by her niece, Cynthia Sweatman and numerous other nieces and nephews.
