Doris Catherine Owens

Services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. John Lary of Calvary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Saturday evening, March 28, 2015, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Doris was born August 24, 1948, in Shreveport, LA to Hugh Walter Daniel and Mary Lou (Fletcher) Daniel. She loved bowling and was a member of the South Brazoria County USBC and also enjoyed playing bridge with several local groups. Doris was also an active member of Zeta Sigma Phi, Chapter Preceptor 5 in Shreveport.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Ronnie Lowery. She is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart, Robert Owens of Angleton, TX; daughter, Mary Silberbauer and husband, Scott of Shreveport, LA; step-children, Karen Obenhaus and husband, Mike of Angleton, TX and Robert “Bobby” Owens, Jr. of Alvin, TX; and brother, John Daniel of Keithville, LA. She loved being “Grammy” to her two grandchildren, Calvin and Catherine Silberbauer, and had ten step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild; a niece and nephew, along with numerous cousins.
