Throughout her life, Evangeline was a beloved presence to those who knew her, steady in care and gracious in spirit. She served faithfully as a teacher’s aide with the Caddo Parish School Board for 20 years, offering patient support and quiet dedication in the work of educating and encouraging others. Evangeline’s faith was central to her life. An avid Christian, she was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James B. Trammel Jr.; and her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Chet Trammel and his wife Sheila, and Tracy Trammel; her grandchildren, Zack Trammel, Courtney Horine, and Faith Donahue; her sister, Paula Waxham McLean; and several great grandchildren.
A visitation for Evangeline will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a Celebration of her Life at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. Officiating the service is Pastor Jerry Steele of Pathway to the Cross Church in Greenwood, LA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cross Church in Greenwood Louisiana.
