Gary Wayne McKaskle Jr.

Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Gary Wayne McKaskle, Jr., 37, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Gary, beloved son of Gary, Sr. and Polly Benfield McKaskle, passed away at home on September 11, 2015, surrounded by his loving parents, family and friends. Gary fought a courageous battle against cancer for the past 2 years.

Gary never met a stranger and was happiest when he could make others laugh with his great stories. He was an avid New Orleans Saints and LSU football fan, anything Duck Dynasty and NASCAR races which he attended every year. He was a 1996 graduate of C.E. Byrd High School where he played the saxophone in the Jazz band. Gary was employed by Horseshoe Casino and valued the friends he made there.

Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents, C.A. (Benny) and Marie Benfield and G.W. (Gene) McKaskle.

He is survived by his parents; grandmother, Lois McKaskle and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, family, friends and his beloved dogs, Maggie and Buddy.

The family would like to thank Dr. Zibari and the nurses at 5W Willis Knighton North for their care of Gary during his illness.
