Glenda Faye (Gillespie) Webb, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on November 24, 2025, at the age of 90. Faye was born on September 10, 1935, in Kirbyville, Texas to the late William and Lucille Tillery Gillespie.
Faye was a resident of Shreveport, Louisiana for most of her life. She was known for her compassionate, kind-hearted, and humorous nature.
In 1956, Faye graduated from x-ray school and worked as an x-ray technologist at Confederate Hospital, (now LSU Ochsner). She married the love of her life Benjamin "Ben" Webb April 5, 1957, and together started their family. They shared over 68 years of love, laughter, and memories. Faye had a passion for reading, shopping, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love for her family was a testament to her nurturing and caring personality.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lucille Gillespie, and sisters, Betty Jean Woods and Billie Lucille Kelly.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Ben F. Webb; daughters, Sheila Webb Barritt (Charlie) and Julie Webb Thompson (Garry); grandsons, Jason Wells Barritt (Holly), Timothy Thompson (Megan), and Christopher Thompson; granddaughters, Lauren Harper (Beau) and Tiffany Thompson Busch (Michael); great- grandchildren, Alayna, Liam and Amelia Barritt, Axel and Atlas Harper, Theron, Willow and Stone Thompson and Bella Busch, as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family.
Honoring Faye as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jason, Timothy, Christopher and Beau, as well as her sons-in-law, Charlie and Garry.
Faye's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but especially by her husband and girls.
A visitation will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, located at 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108, on November 28, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same location beginning at 1:00 pm.
