Shreveport, LA James was born in Farmington, WI on December 19, 1934 and passed away peacefully at home with his family on March, 18, 2015 after a lengthy illness. He was a loving Husband, Father and Paw-Paw.
He joined the Air Force after high school and served in the Vietnam War, retiring after 24 years of service. He went on to work with the City of Shreveport Parks and Recreation Dept., retiring after 20 years.
James is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nita Ann of Shreveport; daughter, Deborah Kelly and husband Chris of Birmingham, AL; son, Michael Butler and wife Sabina of Lafayette, LA; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Hamann of Galveston, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at the graveside Tuesday, March 24, 2015, 2:00 PM in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with family will be from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM at the funeral home before the service.
