James retired after 40 years of service as a postal clerk with the United States Postal Service. He was a devoted Christian and faithful member of Countryside Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his family.
James was preceded in death by his wife Lillie Sharp; son James H. Sharp Jr.; grandson Cody Ebarb and 7 siblings. He is survived by daughters Karin Guice (Mark) and Kim Ebarb (Wayne); sister Ruth Butler; grandchildren Kristi Rice (Rusty), Kristopher Payne, Dwayne Ebarb, Trevor Ebarb (Jessica); great grandchildren Ashlynn Rice, Landon Rice, Gracie Ebarb and Madison Ebarb. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for James will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A celebration of life graveside service will occur Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 1:30 PM at Centuries Memorial Park Pavilion. Officiating will be Rev. Randy Johnson. Honoring him as pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
