

KEITHVILLE, LA - Services for James Winnon Taylor, 86, will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating will be Pastor Murry Hodge. Preceding the graveside service will be visitation from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at
the Centuries Memorial Chapel.
James was born in Spearsville, Louisiana, to Homer Lee Taylor and Ethel Wells Taylor, and passed away after a short illness. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a lifelong member of Summer Grove Baptist Church, and retired from Shreveport’s AEP / Swepco in 1991 after 37 years of service. James had a “green thumb” and loved working in his garden and yard during his retirement.
James will be missed by family, and a multitude of friends and neighbors, including his church family.
James was preceded in death by Carolyn, his wife of 60 years, his parents, and one sister, Beverly. Left to cherish his memory are his son Greg Taylor and wife Mary, and daughter Rene Spataro and Elliott Stonecipher; grandchildren, Ashley and Brandon Allen, Justin and Kristen
Spataro; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Jacob and Chandler Allen, and Conner Spataro and soon-to-arrive baby sister Camryn; and brother Willard Taylor.
