Janet Renee Chreene, of Gloster, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at the age of 54. She was born July 9, 1967 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Margaret and Harold Gay. Renee started attending Word of God Ministries in Shreveport, Louisiana. She fell in love with the church the moment she stepped inside the doors. Her heart was with the Lord.
Renee married the love of her life, Pete Chreene in May 28 of 1983, when she was 15. Pete and Renee truly shared their whole life. Together they raised five children, enjoyed the company of their grandkids and even worked together. She worked as the office manager at the Sabine Parish Police Jury for 15 years.
Renee was a dedicated wife, mother and nana to her grandkids. She was known for having a big heart. She loved that her family was close. She was a very hardworking women and a wonderful homemaker. Renee was well known for her love of cooking. She cooked many meals that could feed an army. One of her favorite past times was tending to her numerous plants. She enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as vacationing in their travel trailer to the mountains.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 38 years, Pete Chreene Sr.; her children, Pete Chreene Jr, Jaye Chreene and wife Bobbie, Jennifer Chreene, Heather Gamble and husband William, and Nick Chreene and wife Jennie; brother, Tommy Gay Sr.; sisters, Patsy Haltom, Sue Ball, Becky Huff and Kathy Bonsall; 11 grandchildren, Skylar McKenzie Chreene, Hilary Vanessa Chreene, Candace Paige Chreene, Bailey Grace Chreene, Justin Riley Paddie, MaKaylah Renee Paddie, Hannah Elizabeth Paddie, Jakob Colten Paddie, Chloe LeeAnn Gamble, Alexis Danielle Gamble and Noah Jacob Chreene. Renee is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews that all loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Glenda Sue Gay; niece, Sherri Spraggins; and nephews, Michael Huff Jr. and Tommy Gay Jr..
A visitation for Renee will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A celebration of her life will occur Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Services will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. Renee will be laid to rest in the Chreene Cemetery in Stanley, Louisiana. Tommy McMellon will be officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers are Pete Chreene Jr., Jaye Chreene, Nick Chreene, Davis Harris, Josh Harris, and Brandon Harris. Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Sepulvado, Austin Ball, Brenden Lester, Justin Paddie and Ken Bell.
