Jasper Leroy Hightower

Celebration of Life services for Jasper “Leroy” Hightower, 71, will be held 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2011 in the Centuries Memorial Chapel with Dr. B.J. “Rocky” Maddox of Rose Park Baptist Church officiating. The family will be receiving guests for visitation Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Centuries from 2:30 p.m. until time of service. Interment will immediately follow in the Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, Louisiana.

Mr. Hightower was born June 6, 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Alvin Leroy and Beulah Bailey Hightower and was called home February 20, 2011. He was a member of Rose Park Baptist Church in Shreveport. Mr. Hightower retired from Tri State Elevator in 1995 following many dedicated years of great service. He will be remembered as a loving father, sibling, grandparent, and friend to those who knew him.

Mr. Hightower was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Hightower; and one sister, JoAnn Jackson. Left to cherish Leroy’s memories and tell his stories will be his beloved wife of fifty-two years, June Miears Hightower; four children, Johnny Hightower and wife Cindy, Roy Hightower and wife Rebecca, Julie Turnipseed, and Rhonda Heaberlin and husband Keith; two siblings, Lynn Hightower and wife Betty, and Pat Skipworth; along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Honoring Mr. Hightower as pallbearers will be Cody Reeves, Jonathon Hightower, Mark Gladney, Dustin Tharpe, Donnie Tynan, and Kenneth Wayne Tynan. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Blizard and Dusty Heaberlin.
