Jerry Wayne Compton, age 77, of Bossier City, Louisiana passed away on July 2, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Jerry was born July 20, 1947, in Haynesville, Louisiana, to Hurshell Compton and Ruby Stewart.
Jerry dedicated his career to the transportation and logistics industry, working with distinction at McLean Trucking, Complete Auto, and Jack Cooper Transport. A proud and longtime member of Teamsters Local 568, he was known for his strong work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to his fellow drivers.
He was a devoted LSU fan who found great joy in hunting, fishing, and sharing time with his beloved grandchildren. Known for his legendary personality, Jerry had a natural ability to command any room he entered, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Jerry is survived by his three daughters, Stacy Brown, Tracy C. Baudoin (Tom), and Amanda B. Compton; two grandchildren, Dylan Baudoin and Kobie Ward Jordan; five great grandchildren, Jayden, Braylin, Koda, Ashton, and Tatum; sister-in-law, Penny LeRoux along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Rebecca V. Compton; parents, Hurshell and Ruby Compton; sisters, Hazel, Jean, Mary, and Edith; brother, Melvin Compton, and nephew Ray Wise of Waskom.
A memorial service for Jerry will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Hill Crest - Blanchard Chapel, 356 Warriner Ave., Shreveport, Louisiana 71107.

They would also like to express heartfelt gratitude to his grandson, Dylan, for his unwavering dedication and compassionate care over the past four years, which allowed Jerry to remain at home rather than enter a nursing facility.
