Jinnie was born in Sour Lake, Texas, on May 2, 1927, to George and Eula Williams. She met, fell in love with, and two weeks later married Marvin “Buddy” Anderson. Jinnie and Buddy moved to Kilgore, TX and then later to Shreveport, LA, where she was a homemaker/babysitter, and he owned a tire shop. They raised two sons together, Robert Marvin Anderson and Roger Lynn Anderson. Together they enjoyed their four grandchildren. Buddy preceded Jinnie in death in 1981, and she never remarried.
Over the years, Jinnie remained very social and regularly visited with friends and family. She could often be found in the early morning having breakfast and coffee with her close group of friends. She also enjoyed traveling to visit family in nearby Texas and going to garage sales.
Jinnie was preceded in death by her parents and oldest son, Robert; sisters, Eunice Welch, Margie Baggerman and Willie Cline; Mother-in-law and Father-in-law, Alma and John Anderson; sisters-in-law, Hazel Wakefield, Maxine Welch, Pauline Gaby and Patsy Jo Cooley; brothers-in-law, Louis Miller, Bud Cline, Don Welch, Delmar Gaby and Walter Cooley.
She is survived by her son Roger; daughters-in-law, Shirley and Pamela; sister, Barbara Miller; grandchildren, John Anderson (Beth), Shelley Moore, Jessica Migues (Joey), and Marisa Applebury (Michael); great-grandchildren, Sarah Lancon (James), Rachel Moore, Kayleigh Anderson, Joshua Moore, Chase Applebury, Jacob Coats, Seth Moore, Colby Coats and Brandon Migues; great-great-grandson Samuel Lancon. Jinnie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A visitation for Jinnie will be held Friday, January 7, 2022 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 10:30 AM in the Chapel at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Centuries Memorial Park.
