J.T. worked for Coca Cola Bottling Company for 18 years before becoming a business owner himself. He was the owner of Barton Glass Distributors and Stop Again Rentals. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors mainly fishing and camping. He especially loved cooking and eating with family and friends. He was a devoted and loving husband, father; grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Maxine Barton; daughter, Natalie Sliman and Gary; grandson, Wes Mason; great granddaughter, Tara Mason; brother, Don Barton and Shirley; niece, Donna Sutton and Greg; and great nephew, Scott Sutton and Emily.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Garnie and Virginia Mae Barton.
