Laura was my daughter, Terri’s best friend and was in our home lots.  She was always a joy to be around.  She even traveled many miles to visit us after we moved away from Shreveport.  She was like a daughter to me and I loved her dearly.

Laura was my very best friend in junior high and high school. We were inseparable. When I moved to North Carolina in the middle of my sophomore year, I didn’t know how I’d make it without her. But we managed. I visited Shreveport and then she came to NC to be my maid of honor in my wedding. That meant so much to me. As adults, we stayed in touch and though we would go long periods without talking, when we did it was like no time had passed at all. Laura was a perfect example of what a friend should be. I was the shy one and she was the bubbly one and she NEVER left me behind, making sure I was always included. I have so many amazing memories of her. I can remember before I went to nursing school we had so little money. Brooke(my oldest daughter) had been chosen to be in a big talent competition and when Laura found out she asked what Brooke would wear and I said oh I’m sure we have something that will work. She said” Oh no Ter bear(as she loved to call me) she needs a new one” and she sent me a gift card to get her one! Her love and her friendship was always truly unconditional and I will never forget that. I love you so much Laura. I’m so sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye. I know that you are finally truly at peace with your mom and your nan and Daniel, all of whom you missed SO much! You will be a constant reminder to me of the true definition of friendship. 

If you ever needed proof that Angels walk amongst us, Laura was it. She loved completely and would do anything for those she loved without ever expecting anything in return. I feel so blessed to have had her in my Life since High School. The world is just a little darker without her light. Laura, oh sweetheart. We’re supposed to be talking trash about each other’s Football Teams, laughing and keeping our friends from taking it to serious. I’m not ready to say goodbye damn it! We all love you so much girl. Make sure you keep all those Bandwagon Cowboys fans in line up there and I’ll keep making fun of them down here. Love ya girl. Rest easy.

Such a beautiful soul that never knew a stranger. I only actually knew you for maybe the last 10 years but it feels like a lifetime because you were so full of life and shared so much of it. 
   You are the only person to ever call me Moma L and I was so honored by that. Fly high sweet Angel until we meet again 💖

Oh my. I just found out about my sweet girl. I've known Laura since she was a teenager. She stayed at my house so many times in sunset acres. So many memories to tell. Don't know which one to tell. But I want to find the picture of when her my son james Johnson went to my youngest son's baseball game at the ball park at AT&T many years ago. She was so gorgeous and had on James' jacket. But they were just friends. She was like my own daughter. Nan would always give her permission to come stay with us. Her charm was breath taking. I never met anyone who didn't live this girl. May Laura r.i.p. and may she be dancing in the sky. I'll see her on the other side one day. She always called me moms. My heart is filled with sorrow right now, and she would not want that. My deepest condolences to all her family and friends. She will be deeply missed. Until then, God bless!!!!!!!



I’ve been great friends with Laura since we were about 11 years old and there are too many memories to list them all but one I’m most proud of is the fact that Laura called me fam. I grew up knowing those she loved dearly, including: Nan, Trudy, Aunt Valynda, Tracey, Amy, Bubba, Lacey and Annabelle or Mockingbird as she always lovingly called her.  Laura loves you all more than you may ever know. 

Laura knew my secrets, and my problems but we also shared our laughter and our successes. Laura taught me a lot and she helped to build my strengths and had a part in me becoming the man I am today. She encouraged me always, scolded me when needed and always, always loved me through it all! Laura was a bright light in any room she entered and never met a stranger. Everyone that knew her loved her! She was an Angel on earth!

I will cherish the memories we have together and I’ll always keep her memory alive. She lives in my heart and there she will forever be. RIP my sweet Laura and tell Nan and Trudy I said I love them. I’ll miss you always.
