Laverne was a devoted caregiver and provider. As a woman with quick wit and a bold countenance, her resilience and perseverance supported her through many trials. In Laverne's 89 years, she was an avid reader, gardener, and world traveler. She loved puzzles and valued education greatly. She was dedicated to her faith and a loyal church member.
Laverne went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at the age of 89. She is now reunited with her first husband, Earl Beam; second husband, Marion Lee; children, Cindy Beam and Gale Reese; parents; and siblings, Delmas Hinton, Violet Rager, Athalee Little, Loraine McMullen.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Faye Kellerman; granddaughter, Haley McKeehan and husband, Jeremy, and their children, Aiden and Lylah; granddaughter, Gaelin Craighead and husband, Chris, and their children Caroline and Christopher.
A visitation for Laverne will be held Monday, February 24, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM. Officiating the services will be Pastor Jack Alumbaugh with Bro. Bill Kincaid from Baptist Tabernacle. She will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park.
