Linda McCarthy Ellis, 61, lost her courageous battle with cancer on July 9, 2014. She is predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Raphael McCarthy and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Norman and Mr. and Mrs. Willie Wood. Nana is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law and 5 grandchildren who she devoted her life to: Melissa, Jason and Jackson Legg, Meagan, Denny, Alex and Eva Moton, and Michele, Brian, Mary McCarthy and William Kane. She is also survived by her best friend and sister, Charla McCarthy Rachal, her loving nephew, Grant Rachal, her doting aunt, Sharon Klein and
family, her devoted nieces, Tara Jester and April Wilson, all her friends who she loved and treated as family, and her dog Cooper. Linda
Baby was a devoted Christian and Alabama fan. She would give up anything to help someone in need. She was loved by everyone who met her because of her joyous disposition and love of life. The family would like to thank: Dr. Chad Hargon for the care and friendship he provided Linda and her family; Shanda Fuller, Irene Thomas, Rosie Kennedy, and Krystal Odum, for the love, care and laughter they provided in the end; and Christus Schumpert Hospice, especially Ellen and Debbie. Pallbearers will be:
Michael Hermes, Brian Kane, Ernie Legg, Jackson Legg, Jason Legg, Alex Moton, Denny Moton, Donald Moton, Bill Powdrill and Grant Rachal. The visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Thursday, July 10th at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10 am
Friday, July 11th at First United Methodist Church of Shreveport. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Methodist Children's Home or the American Cancer Society. Roll Tide.
