Margarette Humphries

Margarette was born January 11, 1935 in Brister, Arkansas and passed away peacefully January 15, 2017 at the age of 82 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Her greatest passions came after the birth of her two grandsons, Austin and Tyler Lash. Grandmommy held nothing back when it came to loving her boys. Whatever the question, the answer was yes! Cartoon marathons, endless watermelons, unlimited eggnog, and all the slim fast you could drink! She walked in the woods with her boys, played in mud puddles, built couch pillow forts, took day trips to Cowhide Cove, and made sure that every meal was followed by desert. Her fried chicken, deer steaks, tater tot casseroles, and spam sandwiches will be missed at all future family gatherings, as will her singing, sequined tops, and infectious laughs.

Visitation will be held from 2 P.M.- 3 P.M. on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home with a graveside service at 3 P.M. Officiating the service will be Dr. Tom Harrison. Serving as pallbearers will Austin Lash, Tyler Lash, Randy Yates, Mike Benefield, Stan Humphries, Mike Woods.

She is Survived by her loyal husband of 61 years, Don; Daughter, Renee Lash with husband, Gary; Grandson, Austin with wife Aubrey and Tyler with wife Lauren; Great-Grandchildren, Roehn, Reid, John Tyler, and Luke; Brothers, Charles Yates with wife Carolyn, Gary Yates, and Larry Yates with wife Pat. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Lottie Yates; her brother, James with wife Barbara.
