Margie came to know Jesus as her personal Savior at a young age. She had a deep love for the Lord and enjoyed life to the fullest. She displayed her passion for the Lord well by volunteering in many capacities in the church like Vacation Bible School, Women’s Ministry, teaching Sunday School and International Ministry and always had a great love for missions. Mrs. Hargis invested in the lives of many children as she owned and operated Happy Friends Daycare for many years as well as enjoyed hosting international high school students. Margie loved to read, sew, scrapbook, research her family’s genealogy, laugh and play games.
We would like to express deep gratitude to two amazing ladies, Janice Robinson and Yolanda George, who graciously assisted us through this journey over the past six months. We will be forever grateful for their kindness, love and giving spirit as they helped us care for our mother. We could not have walked this road without them. We would also like to thank the entire staff at Oakwood House for loving our mother so well for the past three years. The staff of Marshall Hospice did a remarkable job and provided excellent care for our mother in the last months of her life as well and we are extremely thankful for their services.
A celebration of life for Mrs. Hargis will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be held at 9:00 am on Monday, April 18, 2022 and the celebration will begin at 10:00 am. Pallbearers will be Grammy’s grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Hargis’ desire was that donations be made to the American Heart Association at heart.org.
