Margie Reeves, age 94, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025. Margie was born to her father, Oscar Lainer, and her mother, Ruth Joyner Lainer, in Jacksonville, FL on April 30, 1930. She was the ultimate Mom and Mawmaw, full of love, laughter, and a joy for life that she shared with everyone lucky enough to know her.
To her children and grandchildren, Margie was a constant source of warmth and affection. She adored spoiling her grandbabies, showering them with love, laughter, and the kind of hugs only a Mawmaw can give. Her heart was as big as her smile, and she made every family gathering an unforgettable celebration. Whether it was sneaking extra treats or indulging in silly games, Margie knew how to make her family feel like the most special people in the world.
Margie was married to the love of her life, Jim Reeves, for 51 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, adventure, and lots of laughter. She enjoyed life to the fullest, from exciting casino trips to her peaceful hours spent tending to her beloved garden. She had a special way of making every moment more fun, and she could always be counted on to bring joy into a room.
Margie is survived by her sons, Jimmie Reeves (LaJuana) and Jerry Reeves; her brother, Buddy Lainer; her sisters, Libby Eagle and Frankie Drummond; her grandchildren, Sheri Hall (Russell), Misty Pee, and Mason Reeves; and her great-grandchildren, Nate Barnes, Layla Pee, Cross Reeves, Stevie Baillo, and Kenlee Schalewski.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Reeves; her daughter, Linda Reeves Ryan; her father, Oscar Lainer; her mother, Ruth Joyner Lainer; and her granddaughter, Melissa Reeves.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
