Marianne Futch White left this world to be with Jesus on February 10, 2010, after battling cancer far many years. Marianne was born in Shreveport, Louisiana February 9, 1951. She taught art for 26 1/2 years, at Northwood High School, Summerfield Elementary, and Keithville Elementary. She poured herself into building the imagination and character of her students. She was a member of Midway Church of Christ, and deeply loved her brothers and sisters there.
She was preceded in death by her father, G.B. Futch, and her in-laws: Scotty and Pearl White.
Left to Cherish Marianne's memory and tell her stories will be her loving husband of 33 years, Steve White, daughter; Jennifer Booth and husband Phillip, mother; Beryl Futch, sister; Karen Futch, sister-in-law; Agnes "Tanny" Hanson and husband Joe Ed, nieces: Ann Ray and husband Chuck, Dawn Hanson and husband Olli, a host of extended family members, along with many dear friends.
The family wishes to thank The Willis Knighton Cancer Center, especially Dr. Sanford Katz and Delaine, Dr. Michael Moore, Rita, and Christy, for your care, direction, and support. We also want to thank the staff of Heritage Manor South and of Life path Hospice for their care, and Jim Moran and the faculty of Keithville Elementary School for the love you showed Marianne.
Services will be held in Centuries Memorial Chapel at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2010 with Brother Wayne Fussell officiating and Jerry Tettleton assisting. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 12, 2010 from the hours of 4-7 p.m.
Acting as pallbearers will be Raymond Gaines, Billy Woods, Bill Boston, Doug Crooks, Matt Post, and John Briery.
