The Homegoing Celebration for Mary Merrill Richardson Lipsey will be held Saturday, October 26th at First Baptist Keithville, La. Visitation will be held at 1pm and service will be immediately following at 2pm. Officiating the service will be Pastor Mike Stowell and Rev. Billy Crosby.
Mary was born on January 11, 1943 in Mira, Louisiana, and sadly left us on Thursday, October 24th from her second battle with cancer. She attended Hosston High School and later in life graduated from Bossier Parish Community College with a Finance Degree, Suma Cum Laude. For many years she was employed by First National Bank of Shreveport and Premier Securities. She attended many classes with the American Institute of Banking and in 1987 she won the Lois Jackson Award. She retired as a Certified Financial Planner with Diana DeCharles at Pinnacle Asset Management Group, Inc.
Early in her career, Mary loved being a member of Toast Masters , where she was secretary and won The Toastmaster Humorous Speech award. She also served as a Master Gardener for many years. Her favorite past time was reading…for hours. For many years, she enjoyed singing in the choir at Summer Grove Baptist Church and in recent years, worshipping at First Baptist Church Keithville. Mary will be remembered for her love of family, friends, and her sense of humor; she called herself a storehouse of useless information.
