Parkie L. Denney

A Celebration of Life Service for Parkie Lloyd Denney, 81, will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends during a visitation for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.

Parkie was born to Guy and Edna Mae Denney on June 26, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio and went to be with his Lord on July 18. 2018 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Parkie worked in the auto industry as a team leader for General Motors. His hobbies included watching basketball, especially his favorite team, the Kentucky Wildcats. Parkie was dearly loved by those who knew him and he will be greatly missed.

Parkie was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Michael Denney. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Mary F. Denney; his daughter, Marcie Denney; his step-daughter, Kim LaLena; his step-son, John LaLena and wife Sandy; his grandchildren, Tyler LaLena and wife Jessica, Nikolaus LaLena, Mallory Parker and husband Maclane, Trent Taylor, Hunter Taylor, and Courtney Denney; and his sister Vicki Watkins and husband Eddie.
