Randall Jay Langham, 43, was welcomed into heaven on April 1, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family. Jay was so loved by his family and friends, and his passing will leave an emptiness, but the knowledge that we will see him again one day sustains us.
Jay was born on February 27, 1980 in Lubbock, Texas to Rick and Patti (Pendleton) Langham. The family soon moved to Shreveport, Louisiana, where he grew up.
Jay married the love of his life, Sarah in 2004. Jay and Sarah had two precious daughters - Braylin Paige, and Masyn Kristine. He loved his family very much.
Jay graduated from Captain Shreve High School in Shreveport in 1998 and attended Louisiana Tech University, where he graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Jay was a member of Phi Kappa Phi - National Honor Society of Students Recognized for Superior Scholarship and Top Ten Percent Senior Class, Leadership and Character.
He was a licensed architect and worked in Construction Project Management, Quality Control and Safety Management. He was employed as a Senior Architect for Building Engineering Consultants, Inc. He had such a strong desire for excellence and it was this desire that caused him to set high goals. He was very creative and always had a project of some sort going. He had a wit that drew people to him. He will be so missed.
Jay was a lifelong member of the Broadmoor Baptist Church in Shreveport. Jay accepted Jesus into his heart when he was 10. It is the knowledge that our Savior is able to hold us to the very end that gives us the hope and the assurance we will see him again one day.
He loved spending time with his daughters. They were the very heartbeat of his life. They grew up hearing him pray with them at night before bed. He enjoyed listening to music, and spending time outside grilling. He also loved to fish.
He loved “chillin” and watching football and basketball with his brothers. Jay was seldom found without a basketball in his hand while growing up. He loved the game, and had such fun playing with both his brothers, whom he was blessed to call his best friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents - Walter “Sport” and Leona Pendleton, Thomas “Sonny” Langham, and Sylvia Bond.
He is survived by Sarah Crawford Langham, his daughters Braylin and Masyn, his parents Rick and Patti Langham, his brothers and best friends - Scott Langham of Shreveport and Matt Langham of Conroe, Texas, Matt’s fiancé Tiffany Anderson, and a very special nephew Bryce Langham. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, loved ones and countless friends.
A visitation will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport from 5 - 7 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023. Graveside service will be on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Centuries Memorial Park in Shreveport.
The family wants to offer a special thanks to Dr. Scott McRight and Nurse Kristin Jackson, as well as the Life Path Hospice Care Team and Nurse Julie Reynolds. Your constant care and support has given us such comfort.
