Mr. Ray T. Shelton

Shreveport, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Ray T. Shelton, 92, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. Don Bush. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Shelton was born on October 31, 1922 in Alexandria,LA and passed away on November 30, 2014 in Shreveport,LA. Ray was a dedicated and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He worked as a painter for many years with his father and then worked as a painter for the Caddo Parish School Board until his retirement. Mr. Shelton was a member of Kingston Road Baptist Church. Ray's hobby and joy was building purple martin houses.

Mr. Shelton was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Robert Earl Shelton.

Left to cherish beautiful memories of Ray are his wife of 68 years, June Shelton; children, Barbara Skinner (David), Donald Shelton and Mary Shelton; grandchildren, Chris and Meghan; sisters, Marie Williams, Ann Hill and Bunny Austin.

Honoring Mr. Shelton as pallbearers will be: Dickie Smith, James Garcia, James Thomason, Lamar Nunnery, Steve Miller, Bob Trybus and Denny Morrison.
