Rupert Sepulvado was born in Converse, LA, to Rufus and Clara (Leone) Sepulvado. He grew up on the family homestead in the close-knit communities of Ebarb and Zwolle. Rupert and Loraine Malmay married in 1961, planted roots in Shreveport, had a couple of boys (Mike and Mark), and built a good life. As lifelong Catholics, they attended St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church.
Rupert retired from Beaird Industries as Plant Superintendent — working his way up over 49 years through merit, a strong work ethic, and a razor-sharp mind. The friendships he built there were the lasting kind. He also served as Director and Principal of Deepwoods Utilities and Wildoak Utilities, and served on the board of Caddo Parish Fire District 6.
Rupert peacefully passed away after a brief illness on March 20, 2026, with his wife and sons holding his hands and feeling his final heartbeat. He is survived by his wife, Loraine; his sons, Michael Rupert and Mark Alan; his siblings, Louise Malmay, Liz Brandon, and Joe Sepulvado; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
