Diane was a dedicated Christian that loved her Savior, Jesus Christ and spent many hours praising and worshipping him. She was a lover of animals and has rescued many over her lifetime, Diane spent her early teens honing her artistic abilities, sketching faces and profiles was her specialty. She was a fierce Girl Scout Leader and delighted in teaching her troops new and old Girl Scout Traditions. In her later years, Diane enjoyed spending time and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent many years being a devoted wife to the love of her life, Carrol and being an adoring mother, giving her girls the best life she could. She will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister Paula Navin and husband, John; daughters, Christy Guillory Baker and Julia Guillory Acree and husband, Troy; grandchildren, Amanda Baker-Anderson, Brittany Baker, Joseph Baker, Joshua and Erin Ypya, Lindsey Ypya and Tim, Caleb Ypya and Kaylee, Eli Ypya, Emily Campbell and Cody and Cody Copes; great grandchildren, Jaxon, Landon, Charlie, Elliott, Myles, Addison, Cash, Haisley and Genevieve; brother-in-law, Roland Guillory; and cherished host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Guillory; daughter, Mary Jennifer Guillory Ypya; granddaughter, Crystal DiAnne Baker; father, William R. Loyd, Sr.; mother, A. Inez Loyd; brothers, Richard Loyd, Dewey Loyd and Stan Loyd; In-laws, Arcideuse and Lydia Guillory; brother-in-law, John T. Guillory.
A memorial visitation for Ruth will be held Friday, May 24, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108.
