Ruth Ann Lolley, 68, passed away on August 22, 2024. Ruth Ann originally from Anchorage, AK, moved to Shreveport, LA as a child. She was married to the love of her life, William Howard Lolley for 46 wonderful years until his passing in 2017. Together, Ruth Ann and Howard were a staple of the Southern Hills neighborhood, owning both Southern Hills Child Care as well as Southern Hills Grocery and Hardware. Ruth Ann's love for children and their education kept her in the child care business for over 41 years, rearing hundreds and hundreds of local children.
Ruth Ann is survived by her son, William Eric Lolley and wife, Elizabeth; her daughter, Megan Lolley Carlisle and partner, Melissa; grandchildren, Isabella Hughes, Landri Lolley, Bryson Lolley, Braxton Carlisle; one brother, Dale Dewayne George; and a host of in-laws, aunts, cousins and generations of children she helped raise at her child care business.
Ruth Ann is preceded in death by her parents, MG George and Mary Jane; her husband, William Howard Lolley; her son, Aaron Brooks Lolley and son-in-law, John Carlisle.
A Celebration of Life Service for Ruth will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108.
