Services to honor the life of Samuel Douglas Price, 76, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 2, 2010, at Gateway Church with Rev. John Ponder officiating. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Samuel was born May 2, 1933, and left this earthly life to be with his Lord on March 31, 2010. He was a “Genuine Gentleman”. Samuel retired after 35 years as an insurance agent with Union National Insurance Company and was also a retired Assembly of God pastor. He leaves behind many who loved and respected him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Iula Crooms; brother, Chester Ray Price; nieces, Frances Hennigan and Debra Price; and nephew, Billy Wayne Price. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Mary Joyce Price; sisters-in-law, Edna Earl Willis and Linnie Price; brother-in-law, David Willis, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are Art Smallwood, Johnny Graham, Clyde Simmerman, Buddy Forrest, Richard Candler, and Grand Cherry.

The family would like to thank the staff of Spring Lake Nursing Home, the G-Wing nursing staff, CNA’s, and Agape Hospice, especially Donna and Hank.
