Terrie was full of joy. She loved to laugh and had a special way of making others laugh right along with her. She was artistic, musical, and full of life. Wherever she went, she brought warmth, comfort, and a sense of belonging. Being around Terrie felt like being home.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. Terrie loved Jesus with her whole heart, and everything she did flowed from that love. She didn’t just talk about her faith—she lived it. Through her kindness, her compassion, her forgiveness, and her joy, she showed others what it meant to walk with Christ. It was her deepest hope that everyone she loved would come to know Jesus and experience the same peace, grace, and love that carried her through life.
Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She loved them endlessly and was so proud of each one. Time with them was precious—filled with laughter, music, stories, and memories that will be held close forever. She also loved to travel, always excited to see God’s beauty in new places and experiences.
Terrie is survived by her daughter, Ginny Riddle, son in law Anthony Riddle, her son, Reese Smith, and her mother, Patricia Penton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tyler Riddle, Chloe Riddle, and Andy Riddle. Terrie was predeceased by her father, Charles Smith, and her brother Jeffrey Penton.
Terrie will be remembered for her loving heart, her humor, her strong and steady faith, and the way she made people feel seen, welcomed, and loved. Though her absence is deeply felt, her faith assures us this is not goodbye.
As the words from Footprints in the Sand remind us: during the hardest moments, when only one set of footprints appears, it is then that the Lord is carrying us. We take comfort knowing Terrie now walks fully in His presence, held forever in His love.
"Then the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it." Ecclesiastes 12:7
