Shreveport, LA Funeral services celebrating the life of Vickie Barry Buchanan, 61, will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2017, 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 7 PM on Monday, January 09, 2017 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Buchanan was born in Shreveport on November 18, 1955 and was called home to the Lord on January 6, 2017 after a battle with cancer. Vickie was a graduate of Southwood High School in Shreveport, graduating in 1973. She worked in the insurance industry all her working career.
Vickie loved to travel, garden and enjoy the outdoors. She especially enjoyed hunting with her husband and best friend Robert. Her greatest attribute was always putting others needs before hers.
Vickie is preceded in death by her mother, Rita Mae Burr. She is survived by her father, Bruno J. Barry, husband, Robert Buchanan, daughter, Jamie Buchanan, son, Ben Buchanan and wife Bethany, granddaughter, Lilyana Buchanan, her sisters, Cindy Barry and Denise Booth, her brothers, Dennis Barry and wife Cathy, David Barry and wife Penny and Dale Barry and wife Christina, and a host of nieces and nephews.
