A visitation for William C. Compton will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a celebration of his life at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park.
Bill was born Sunday, December 4, 1938 in Bossier City, Louisiana. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He retired from the career he loved at Arkla Gas after many years of service as a Safety Trainer. He was devoted to his faith and was involved in his church, Christ United Methodist, singing in their choir. Bill loved music. He enjoyed singing and was a member of a gospel quartet for several years. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at the age of 83.
Preceding Bill in death are his wife of 52 years, Patsy Price Compton; daughter, Kelly Price Palmer; parents, and brother, Buddy Compton.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Terri Griffith (Mark) and Cindy Compton (Billy); son, John Compton (Karen); grandchildren, Justin Langford, Matt Langford, Randal Palmer, Bill Palmer, Wes Wagnon, and Emily Compton Hilton; four great granddaughters and one due in July. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Mike Donnoly for being a good friend to Daddy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill's name to the Unicef Humanitarian Crisis in Ukraine.
