

MOORE, August Roy -74, Ryan’s Creek, passed away May 17, 2011 in the Magnolia Nursing Home, Enfield, surrounded by his family. Born in Lake Egmont, he was a son of the late Stanley and Alma (Dillman) Moore. August enjoyed country music, played the juice harp, and could whistle a good tune. He had a great sense of humour that he would share with the many people he and Marilyn visited. He worked in heavy construction for many years. He was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses where he faithfully attended since 1983. Marilyn will miss her road trips with August- they had many to Florida and Ontario. August will be sadly missed by his wife Marilyn (DeMings-Acker) Moore, daughters Wanda, Gloria, Juanita and Liz all of Ontario; Rachel, Truro; sons Stanley, Urbania; Daniel, Ontario; stepsons Terry, Birchtown; James, Stewiacke; Bruce, Ontario; grandchildren Nathan, Jacob, Micah, Wanda, Tara, Emily, Alex, Darwin, Jori and Quinton; great granddaughter Aleyah; brother Isaac, Milford; sisters Annie and Ethel, Truro; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Carl, sister Mary and his former wife Marion (Ritchie). Visitation 7-9 pm, Friday in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, with funeral service 2:30 pm , Saturday, in Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness, Shubenacadie East, Dave Pearce presiding. Interment in the Admiral Rock Cemetery at 4:30pm. Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to the Kingdom Hall, Shubenacadie East or a charity of your choice.
