CURRY, Beatrice Eileen, 87-formerly of Shubenacadie, passed away Friday October 29, 2010 at Wynn Park Villa, Truro, with her family by her side. Born in North Salem, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Lila (Parker) Langille. Beatrice lived in Shubenacadie most of her life where she faithfully and diligently delivered the mail for 25 years. She also worked for many families whose homes shone brightly after receiving her special touch. Her caretaking continued in her room at Townsview Estates where she constantly busied herself with tidying her room and rearranging her knickknacks and pictures. Even at Wynn Park Villa, (for as long as she was able), she would polish the rails with a cloth the staff gave her. Beatrice cared deeply for her many friends both old and new. She was a “social butterfly” and entertained all with her wit and sense of humor until the very end. Beatrice loved to dance and went dancing three, four, or more times a week all of her life. When she couldn’t dance with a partner anymore, she still persevered and danced with her walker or her wheelchair. When the music played her feet would start tapping and she was so happy that she could still dance. Most of all, Beatrice loved and treasured her family-her sons, her grandchildren, her sisters, her nieces and her nephews. She was proud of every single one of them and fondly called them “My People”. And if you were lucky enough to be one of Beatrice’s people how fortunate you were. Beatrice is survived and sadly missed by her son Gary (Velma), Enfield; grandchildren Shane (Melinda), Tracy ( Jason) Bethune, Chad, Chelsie, Peter(Alechia), Marianna Bond, Billy Sue Archibald (Pat); ten great grandchildren; sisters Phyllis MacPhee, North Salem; Marion (Ralph)Williams, Milford; Lois (Reinder) Van der Kooi, Shubenacadie; daughter-in-law Debbie Curry, Mill Village; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald, son Roger and sister Pearl Robinson. Visitation will be 7-9pm Tuesday in the Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, from where a funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday November 3, 2010, M. Dale Crawford DLM officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Mill Village. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 111, Shubenacadie or to the Shubenacadie United Church.
