

MACDONALD, “Jim” William, 79 of Oldham passed away surrounded by family on Thursday November 10, 2011. Born in Halifax he was the son of Gordon and Cecilia (Spofforth) McDonald. Jim was employed at the Halifax Shipyards as an electrician for many years, and retired from IMP Aerospace after 15 years of employment. In his retirement years he enjoyed music, his family and grandchildren. He is survived by a daughter Nancy (Arlen) Kennedy of Upper Stewiacke, sons David (Debbie) and Peter of Truro, Mike (Karen),Alex and Tom of Oldham.; grandchildren Amy, Eric, Josh, Sam, Chris, Kathy, Sarah, Heather, Steph, Angie, Melissa, Jim, Jonah, Tari and Ashlynne and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers Tom (Rose) of Truro and Ted (Christina) of Dartmouth, sisters Janet of Ostrea Lake and Donna of Dartmouth. Besides his wife Verna (Horne) he was predeceased by an infant son Christopher, a grandson Andrew brothers Ritchie and Gordie and sister Faith. We, the family want to thank the Home Care support group and VON for all their help enabling Dad to stay at his home.Visitation will be held 7-9 today and 7-9 Sunday at Ettinger Funeral Home Shubenacadie (Exit 10 of Highway 102). Funeral Mass will be held on Monday November 14th, 2011 at 11 am. From St. Bernard,s RC Church Enfield, Fr Andrew Rembarczyk officiating. Burial will take place in the Parish Cemetery.
