

CASTLE, Laura Erma, Carrolls Corner, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2011, in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Carrolls Corner in 1924, she was a daughter of the late James and Winnifred Newman. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Lorne Castle. She will be greatly missed by her sons Gary (Cheryl), Lantz; Dale, Middle Musquodoboit; daughter –in-law, Ellen McFetridge, Middle Musquodoboit; grandchildren Mark, Kelly both of Halifax; Jessie (Donald), Dartmouth; Colin, Bedford; and great granddaughter Bailey; also survived by sisters Helen Castle, June Isenor, both of Carrolls Corner; Fern Cole, Oldham; Joyce (Carl) Miller, Lantz; brothers Glen (Marguerite), Milford; Fred (Sheila), Carrolls Corner; and Bob (Shirley), Gays River; many nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by her sister Ruth Isenor and half brother Harry. Laura was an active member of the Gays River United Church. She took great joy in seeing her grandchildren and great granddaughter, tending to her flower gardens, doing the Lexicon and travelling the roads with her good friend Audrey. Visitation 12:30 -1:30 with funeral service 2pm , Thursday, March 3, both in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Lori Crocker DM officiating. Interment at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Gays River United Church or a charity of your choice.
