

GRANT, Murray Gordon -53, Lantz, passed away August 31, 2010 in the VG Site of the QEII Health Sciences Centre , Halifax after a courageous battle with cancer Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late John “Buster” and Dorothy(Sweeney) Grant. Murray was a carpenter by trade, both self-employed and with Kel-Greg Enterprises. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors as well as coaching many of his daughter’s activities. He was a member of the Blue Nose Retriever Club for many years and participated in and judged field trials throughout Canada. His Labs were his passion. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #48. Murray was a supporter of Ducks Unlimited. He will be sadly missed by wife Becky (Wilson); daughter, Sarah Jane at home; brothers Kenny (Linda) Fort Ellis; Harry (Susan), Dartmouth; Pat (Mary Jane), Lantz; sisters, Hazelle (Levi) Gauthier, Charlottetown; Mary (Sandy) McCully, Truro; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by infant sister, Annie. Cremation has taken place. A Legion Service will be held at 6 PM followed by visitation until 8 PM Friday, Sept. 3rd at the Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2 Shubenacadie from where service will be held 10 AM Saturday, Sept. 4th, Rev. Canon David Fletcher officiating assisted by Rev. Patricia McKenna. Burial at a later date.
