

YOHNKE, Nelson Andrew-64, Wilmot, passed away Saturday August 28, 2010 at the VG Hospital, Halifax after a long battle with cancer. Born December 10, 1945 in Selma, Hants County, he was a son of the late Carl and Mary (Rayner) Yohnke. He was a carpenter for many years. He enjoyed the out of doors and many hours he put into his garden. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, the former Frances Prest, daughters Kathy (Elvert) Hines, Digby; Janice (Sam) Mills, Lakeville; Teena (Gary) Sanford, Berwick; son Wayne (Judy), Kingston; five grandchildren; sisters Phyllis Dunn and June Butters, Truro; a brother Carl, Ont; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Tammy Cruikshank; sister Kathleen; brother Everett. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger Funeral home, Shubenacadie. A graveside committal service will be held 4pm Wednesday September 1, 2010 at Selma Cemetery, Chuck Paterson DM officiating.
