

COOLEN, Paul Joseph 75 – Enfield, passed away peacefully at home, after a short illness, on January 26, 2012. Born in Prospect on March 27, 1936, he was the son of the late George and Viola (Christian) Coolen. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces after which he worked as an air traffic controller at the Halifax International Airport for 35 years. Paul was a much respected member of the community. He was a member of Saint Bernard’s Church, Enfield and County Counsellor in Hants East for many years. His many interests included gardening, sailing and wine making. He is survived by his daughter Sheila, Enfield; sons, Paul (Karen) Black Diamond, Alberta, Brian, Enfield, Gary (Lynne), Calgary, Alberta, Kevin (Audrey), Kingston, Ontario, Sean (Linda) Enfield/Calgary, Alberta, Keith (Sue) Enfield; sister Clarissa (Mike) Leblanc, Prospect, brothers, Weldon (Kay), Prospect, Jack (Joan), Prospect, twenty grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Peggy, his grandparents, his sister Regina and his brother George. Visitation will be 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM Monday January 30, at Saint Bernard’s Church, Enfield from where a funeral mass will be held at 11AM Tuesday January 31, Father Andrew Rembarczyk officiating. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion in Enfield. No flowers by request. Donations can be made to the Cancer Society or Saint Bernard’s Church or a charity of your choice.
