Jean and family, Sorry to hear of Pauls passing. I went through Boot Camp with Paul. He and I stayed an extra year to build a Drill Hall on the parade square at CFB Cornwallis. I regret that we lived so close and never even know, just how close we were. Our thoughts are with you, take care.

I went through Boot Camp with Paul. We stay an extra year to built a drill hall for CFB Cornwallis. It was a pleasure to have known him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you guys.  We have known Paul for many years and he has always been very generous and kind, frequently sharing his culinary inventions with us.  Believe me, it was a treat to eat his meals! A recent memory is of Paul locking his keys in his truck during a shopping trip at Costco.  When we brought them, he was leaning on his truck with a very sheepish grin on his face as if to say, "I did something stupid".  Then there were the times Paul would come into the store to help with the small maintenance jobs or repairs.  For all these reasons and many more, Paul will be missed.

Thinking of you guys during these tough times.  We've had the privilege of knowing the Slate family for several years.  Paul was a wonderful man with an awesome sense of humour.  He was always willing to lend a helpful hand whether it be through his handyman skills or sharing his delicious recipes. To the family: I'm sorry to hear of Paul's passing.  May your memories of him never fade. My condolences go out to you in this time of loss.

I had the extreme pleasure of working with Paul when I arrived at Willow Park in 2001. He made the days fun to go to work with his stories of his many trips. He made a deacons bench for my wife and daughters that still sits inside the front door of my house. My condolences to his wife and sons.

Although I only met Paul a few times, I could tell from the moment I met him that he was an amazing friend, father and husband. He spoiled Jean like crazy and would do anything for others. My heart goes out to the family.

Sorry to hear of Pauls passing. We sailed together for 5 years and I cooked many a meal for him. He loved his cookies...Take care big fella...

Just a little flash back,Paul was really good at developing nicknames for us. I know my nickname will stick in the Slate house for years to come. Here's to you Paul, we all know you'll be looking over us!

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Here's to celebrating the life of a wonderful man. Paul sure knew how to crack a good joke and make anybody smile, a gift he shares with his boys. He will be greatly missed by many and remembered everyday. Cheers to Paul.

Words can never express how deeply we will all miss Paul.  He was much more than our neighbour...he was our source of wisdom for everything...from flowers to cars and everything inbetween. Jean and family I am so sorry for the loss of  your wonderful husband,father and friend.I first met Paul on his trip to NL in 1975 and ended up marrying his best friend Randy.Over the years we had alot of fun times.
Thanks to Facebook and e-mail we were able to reconnect these last years.Who never that it would be for so brief a time.So glad that I got to see him early this summer.Even then as sick as he was he put on a brave front and was more concerned about his garden and the pond that he took great pride in showing off.I hope that every spring when the flowers start to bloom you will be comforted and think of all the happy times.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Paul, we worked together for quite awhile in Windsor Park and Paul always had a smile and a story for everyone. I know of Paul's love of NASCAR because we would discuss( fight) the merits of Formula 1 racing verses NASCAR. I only found out Paul was sick about a month ago and I wish I could have seen him again. I can only offer my sincerest sympathy to the family.
